UNIT 12 SPECIALIST STUDY IN CREATIVE MEDIA PRODUCTION

RESEARCH

In the last two weeks you should identified the research topic and research question as well as make a plan what you will research to inform yourself about your chosen topic. This week you will carry on the research for your Unit 12. Please make sure that your research is varied and consist of both secondary and primary research findings.

‘Factual programme making’

This week you will demonstrate the key features of factual program making.

• You will watch and analyse an example of documentary
• in your production groups you will plan, film and individually edit short factual video
• You will need to follow the PPP slides to get full understanding of tasks set for this week.

Year 2 Project 2 ‘Radio Drama’

Week 2 of Radio Drama project

This week you should start developing your ‘own’ or working in collaboration with someone else ideas for a Radio Drama project. You can use an existing short story and adapt it into a short radio drama or you can use your own ideas. If you still lack ideas you can go onto this site and choose one of the scripts and adapt it for the radio Young actor scenes

The script for radio drama has to follow a certain layout and I am giving you some examples of how to do it:

CHOOSING A RESEARCH TOPIC

In this week sessions you will do the following:

• Select the research topic for Unit 12
• Analyse at least three media products related to your chosen media topic
• Create a full research plan

Please follow my PPP carefully to fully understand what you are asked to do. Don’t forget Unit 12 is part of your FMP, therefore make sure to answer all questions fully.

Year 2 project 2 ‘Radio Drama’

From this week on you will work on Radio Drama project, for which you will analyse range of short radio dramas, write your own script and record and edit your radio drama piece. You will also be working with performing arts students who will act / voce characters for your radio drama pieces.

Please follow the PPP carefully to get yourself introduced to codes and conventions of radio dramas and to understand how to analyse your chosen radio dramas.
