This week marks the end of the research and pre-production stage Part 1.

Ensure you have the following evidence in your Canva journal:

SMART goals – including a week by week schedule
Range of initial ideas
Evaluation of your ideas using 6 Thinking Hats (parallel thinking)
Research into chosen topic
Consumer profile (evidenced by a consumer board)
Evidence of other magazines that your target audience engages with – both in the same genre and other topics. (e.g if your topic is music what other magazines might your audience read such as travel, etc?)
Examples of front covers and magazine spreads with short bullet point evaluation
Examples of videos styles that have inspired you e.g interviews, documentary with short bullet point evaluation

  • Evaluation: Evaluate the effectiveness of your project  
  • Comment on how the final MAGAZINE matches your original idea  
  • What methods and techniques have you used to create your final work. Comment on use of text, colors, images, your influences etc.   
  • How does your final magazine match the professional standard work / have you followed the professional conventions (show comparison between yours and professionally created magazine that you have been influence by)?  
  • What technical skills have you developed in the process of this project. 
  • Target audience: 
  • Who is your intended target audience? What is the feedback on your final magazine from your target audience? 
  • Gather feedback from peers and your tutors on effectiveness of your work and its suitability for its target audience. Reflect on your target audience findings. 
  • If you could what would you like to improve further on this assignment.
